i have come to believe that endings and rejections can be the beginning of something wonderful. . . recently, i landed what i believed, for me, would be a "dream job". my intense hope and excitement very quickly dissipated. after only FIVE days at that dream job, i found myself "face-to-face" with my new boss.
the short story of that long meeting is that the company and I were very ill suited for the other and it was decided that i would not return to that job. i definitely felt the bitter sting of rejection. after losing that dream job on that fateful 5th day and walking into the barren parking lot, i felt an intense stirring within me. . . the pure desire to reinvent myself and my art. i believe that rejection kept me from becoming yet another "burned out, overstressed, underpaid and unfulfilled employee." Out of a very quick five days on a job, five days later studio was born!
